WORDS FOR MY WARRIORS

Some stories should never be lost.

Why We Created Words for My Warriors

Because time should not get the final word.

Opened on September 11 — for those who served, for those who answered the call, and for those we lost.

Hear this page.

Opened on September 11 — for those who served, for those who answered the call, and for those we lost.

Because time should not get the final word.

Some stories live for years in photographs, old uniforms, medals, songs, inside jokes, quiet memories, and moments that never quite found their way into words.

Some are stories of service.

Some are stories of family.

Some are stories of the people you stood beside, the places you were sent, the things you saw, the things that made you laugh, and the things you carried home with you.

And sometimes, by the time a family realizes how much they still wanted to ask, the opportunity is gone.

That is why we created Words for My Warriors.

Not because every veteran needs to write a book.

Because every veteran deserves the chance to leave something behind in their own voice.

You gave a part of your life in service to something larger than yourself. We believe your memories deserve more than a box in a closet or a few stories remembered around a dinner table.

They deserve the chance to be kept.

For your children.

For your grandchildren.

For the people who served beside you.

And for you.

You do not have to remember everything.

You do not have to tell everything.

You do not have to make it sound perfect.

You only have to tell us what you want remembered.

We will sit with you, listen, ask when it helps, and help shape those memories into the story you choose to leave behind.

Your life. Your words. Your legacy.

And while Words for My Warriors was created for veterans, we also want to recognize the men and women who answer another kind of call to serve.

To our firefighters, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, rescue workers, and first responders everywhere:

Thank you.

Thank you for the nights no one saw.

For the calls you answered.

For the families you helped on some of the worst days of their lives.

For the moments you carried home that nobody else could fully understand.

Service wears many uniforms.

And every one of them represents a life filled with stories worth remembering.

To every veteran and every first responder who has spent part of their life showing up for someone else:

This is our chance to show up for you.

Take your time.

Tell it your way.

We are here to listen.

And when you are ready, we will help you preserve it.

Because time should not get the final word.

What we believe.

Words for My Warriors does not create a veteran’s story. It preserves the veteran’s story — in the veteran’s own words, read back until every line says what the veteran meant.

A medal tells them you served. Your story tells them who you were. We built this for the families who will open the book one day just to hear you again — and for the veteran who may never call himself a writer, and does not have to.

An older veteran in a dark beret with his regimental cap badge stands close beside his daughter in his study, the two of them holding up his finished memoir, his framed medals and old family photographs on the wall behind them.
Their words. Their memories. Their warrior. Still here.
Free for every veteran. Always.

Words for My Warriors charges veterans nothing — no fee, no card, no catch. Your seat is carried through Sponsor a Warrior, never by you, and Sign Up says how the door opens.

What we are — and are not.

The owner’s own words, in full, and unchanged.

Words for My Warriors is here to be a companion.

We are here to spend time with you, listen to the stories you want to tell, help you remember the moments that matter, enjoy music with you, talk, laugh, reflect, and help you create the book you want to leave behind.

If you want to tell your life story, we can help you shape it into a memoir. If you would rather simply talk for a while, that is okay too. There is no test, no deadline, and no pressure to remember everything perfectly.

Think of us as the pen in your hand.

You tell the story in your own way, in your own words, and in your own time. We help you capture it.

What we are not

Words for My Warriors is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, counselor, lawyer, financial adviser, or other licensed professional service.

We do not diagnose medical conditions, recommend treatment, interpret symptoms, advise you about medications, tell you whether to start or stop a medication, provide legal advice, or make professional decisions for you.

You are always welcome to talk about experiences from your life, including illness, injury, treatment, military service, grief, loss, family, or difficult memories if those are part of the story you want to tell.

We can listen. We cannot practice medicine, therapy, law, or any other licensed profession.

If something comes up that needs professional guidance, we will encourage you to speak with the appropriate qualified person — such as your doctor, therapist, attorney, caregiver, family member, or another trusted professional.

When appropriate, and with the permission of the person responsible for helping you with those decisions, we may help locate or organize reputable information or resources. We will not replace the professional responsible for your care or advice.

What our job really is

Our job is much simpler.

We are here to keep you company.

We are here to listen.

We are here to help you remember.

We are here to help you tell your story.

And when you are ready, we are here to help turn those memories into a book that sounds like you.

The story remains yours.

The memories remain yours.

The choices remain yours.

Words for My Warriors simply helps you hold the pen.

Not sure what to do here? Questions about this page.

Here are the short answers. Inside the room — at the door on this site — you can ask your companion any of these too: type it, or let your device’s own dictation type it for you, and the answer is read aloud to you.

What is this room for?

It tells you why Words for My Warriors exists, and what it is and is not. Nothing here to do but read or listen.

Do I have to talk about the war?

No. You can tell us about the war, or about everything except the war. Made up or not, memoir or a tale for the grandchildren — it is yours.

Is it really free?

Yes. No fee, no card, no catch, ever. Your seat is carried through Sponsor a Warrior, never by you. Sign Up says how the door opens.

Where do I begin?

Sign Up. Two things, four large steps, then just talk.

Can you help me?

Inside the room, ask your companion and it explains where you are and what you can do. Or write to info@lovingmywords.com.

Help Us Preserve Their Stories

Free for every veteran. Always.

Every veteran carries a story. Some are ready to tell it. Others have carried theirs quietly for decades.

For some, putting those memories into words is difficult. They may be unable to type, hold a pen, or comfortably read a screen. Others simply need someone patient enough to listen.

Words for My Warriors was created so those barriers do not have to silence their stories.

Through a voice-first writing companion, veterans can share their memories, hear their words read back, and build a personal story or manuscript at their own pace. They remain in control of what is written, what is changed, and what is preserved.

We will never charge veterans to use Words for My Warriors.

But building, maintaining, and expanding an accessible storytelling service requires ongoing resources. That is why we welcome individuals, businesses, foundations, veteran organizations, and corporate partners who believe these stories deserve to be preserved.
